Staying Focused in times of trouble by Denis Kozlov

25 September 2014 No Comment

We hear a great deal about Russia in the headlines these days. The information we hear is negative and

disturbing, and it looks like a new wave of turmoil and oppression is headed toward people living in Russia

and in the former satellite republics as political ambitions of the Russian president grow. The process of

stripping people of their freedoms has escalated in recent months, and the civil-war situation in Ukraine is a

horrible reality that many people in Russia and Ukraine are facing. Families being torn apart in both nations

and some Christians–unsure what to do and what to think–are taking sides, and that has made some bitter

and resentful against one another.

It is vitally important to help and strengthen Russian and Ukrainian pastors and Christian leaders and help

them remember that their primary citizenship is the same and their primary allegiance is to the same King,

Jesus, and their primary goal is also the same: Preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I ask that you pray for the Church and pastors in Russia, and also consider making a financial gift to further

the ministry impact of Russians Reaching Russians (RRR). We don’t know how much longer we will be able

to freely travel to and within Russia or how long Russians will be able to freely travel abroad, but whatever

time we have, we want to make the most of it. Please support RRR financially, and, if you have never given

before, I am asking you to consider supporting RRR on a regular basis.

We want to be channels of grace and refreshment to those great men and women of God so they can be

effective in caring for God’s Church in Russia. Your support allows us to train, equip and resource these

pastors and churches as they advance God’s work.

Please, focus your prayers on:

• The end of the civil war in Ukraine

• The end of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict

• Protection of civilians and Christians in the war zone

• Strengthening of Christians and pastors affected by this conflict

• Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that transcends any national conflict
