Breaking Vicious Circle by the Word of God

12 December 2009 No Comment

Dear brothers and sisters!

We are living at a special time now and we need to be at God’s presence constantly fulfilling His will. Being involved into the Prison Ministry for 12 years, I see how we save people marked for death from the Kingdom of darkness. We save them by preaching the Word of God. These people give testimonies on how God saved them and how He continues restoring their lives changing their destiny and ways of thinking. It is a great joy to hear testimony about people’s lives transformation.
We started a new direction in Ministry several years ago – Ministry to children of convicts and their relatives. We noticed that we could reach out more hearts for Jesus through this Ministry showing our concern and love to convicts. Convicts started to think over many things and listen to the Word of God we shared with them. I also see that owing to the Christmas Angel Tree Ministry thousands of people accept Jesus into their hearts.

Last Christmas 6 000 copies of the Children’s Bible were published for the Ministry with assistance of the Institute for Bible Translation. When we visited children and gave presents and the Children’s Bibles to them, I saw how they were excited. They looked at pictures and started reading some chapters from the Children’s Bible at our presence. I remember when I came to a State Orphanage in Volhov town, Russia, and visited Milan, 4 years old boy. His mother was in a female prison being incarcerated for long period – 9 years. Milan was really glad to receive presents from his mother that we brought. I can’t express his excitement and joy when he saw the Children’s Bible. It was his first Bible in his life, and he looked it through with interest turning illustrated pages over. A counselor of the orphanage saw that Milan was interested in the Book very much, and she promised me that she would read it every day for him.

Another girl, Katerina, lived with her grandmother in Saint-Petersburg, Russia, because her mother was incarcerated too. When we gave her a present from her mother and the Bible, she started to read it immediately together with my daughter. And I felt in my spirit how important it was that we brought the Word of God into convicts’ homes and that children could read the Word of God. And we are these messengers who bring the Word of God into their lives.

Lives of convicts change when they come to Jesus. I see how a vicious circle is broken through owing to church ministry. And Word of God was brought to hearts of convicts. And after their repentance they do not want to return to criminal world anymore, they do not want to commit crimes anymore, they do not want to return to places of confinement. They want to have a different life and they pray being imprisoned for God to change their minds and lives, they pray for children, they bless church ministers and staff members of Prison Administration, and they take in Word of God as sincere milk of the Word. Their children regain their own parents, true mothers and fathers, when they released from prisons. And I see when released parents come back home, they turn into true mothers and fathers and take care about their children.

I have talked with some children whose parents were incarcerated. Children shared about their feelings, how much they had been worried about them, how badly they had missed them, and how terribly they had been lacking parental care and warmth. Now they feel great joy that God transformed lives of their parents.

I’m grateful to God for using us for changing people’s lives and future generations.
Preparing to next Christmas in 2009 we would like to publish 11 000 Children’s Bibles for kids who have incarcerated mothers and fathers and to spread these Bibles at Christmas time.

Dear brothers and sisters, I invite you to join this process of changing people’s lives and fulfill this work for saving people together.
