Coming trip to Russia (November 2010)

1 November 2010 No Comment

A team of American brothers and sisters is coming to Russia from November 8-16, 2010 to interact with Russian pastors and key visionary leaders.
The team is composed of two families and one individual from Springfield (Ohio), one family from Virginia Beach (Virginia) and one family from Cushing (Oklahoma).

The team will visit and minister to 7 local congregations in and around St.Petersburg, 3 Christian rehab centers, and 1 mission school. Also, a 2 day conference will be held for 19 of our key visionary leaders. The main goal of the conference is to encourage and inspire Russian leaders and their spouses. Also, we want to pray and plan together strategically to be effective in the areas that God has called us to work together (church planting, rehab centers, prison ministry etc.)

Besides the conference sessions there will be opportunities for Russians and Americans to interact over meals and during coffee breaks outside of the conference setting. Reliable Christian interpreters will facilitate fellowship between Russians and Americans during the entire trip.

Leaders from Springfield, Ohio will be visiting their partner church in the town of Komunar to reconnect with Pastor Andrey and and his wife Svetlana and to minister to and fellowship with the congregation.
Team members might also have the opportunity to introduce a discipleship program to the pastor and leaders of one of the St. Petersburg churches.

More than 15 years of this ministry has produced many wonderful friends, a network of churches and different Christian ministries. Some of them were birthed by RRR, while others have partnered with us in the past. One of the things planned for this trip is to reconnect with those that RRR has worked with throughout the years. What makes it even more special, is that the founders of RRR, Rick and Heather Ives, will be present at this international reunion that will take place on the very last day of the trip.

Please, pray for

  1. traveling mercies and protection for the team
  2. God’s special blessings and anointing to be upon this trip.
  3. for all the practical arrangements to work smoothly (interpreters, transportation and food)
  4. protection while commuting in Russia. (To keep the budget of the trip reasonable public transportation will be used as much as possible and foreigners are often “hunted” by pickpockets.)
