Russians in Turkey and in Syria

23 December 2008 No Comment

There is a great number of people that come to Christ every single day. But still some have never heard of Him yet. There are still places in this world where people are not allowed even to mention the name of Jesus under the threat of death. Most of such countries profess religion of Islam. It’s a second time when our church sends a team of missionaries to Turkey and Syria

Beginning from 5th throught the 20th of October a team of 6 people will visit 6 cities and will be ministering by sharing the word of god and their personal testimonies. Also we plan to hold concerts of praise and worship songs.

It’s important to show to Christians that live in that region that God is always with them and that every church has their own challenges and hardships. The goal of our trip is to encourage and comfort their hearts. Those places are troublesome and dangerous for Christians. Christians are often oppressed over there. Most of the team members of this mission team said that almost all of them experienced very severe spiritual attacks in their lives as soon as as they decided to go over there. All the church members were notified of this trip and they took it seriously into their prayers. The team members said that they expect God to do great thing in this trip.

Growing new generation

At the moment the center for children development that the church started is undergoing procedures of registration with the government. We plan to get a license by the end of this year. The purpose of the center is to facilitate formation of Christian character in children while giving them good quality education. This is going to be an alternative to public school. All teachers in this school will be Christians who actively serve in different evangelical churches. At the same time they are all good professional teaches. This is the school for kids raised in Christian families

It’s working 5 days a week and it has a special extended program so that kids can stay longer. Every day begins with prayer and studying the Word. Twice a week there are special worship services where everybody altogether praise God.

Education process is organized in the same standard way as any other school would have it except the fact that we integrate biblical truths into the curriculum. There is a bible lesson every day. Children study the word of God, secular sciences, they learn how to pray and worship God, they learn serve other people and do good. Curriculum is based on the standard school text books and programs but each class is adjusted to the truth that God is the center of everything/ There are classes like biology and geography where we make sure that we pracent sertain things we say that this is a scientific theory not valid reliable knowledge.

At the a very young age children learn how to resist and overcome different problems, they learn how to be obedient, patient, humble, friendly, joyful, loving, serving. They learn how to look for the calling of God upon their lives, because it’s the most important thing.

Teaching believers

There is very important time in a life of a new believer. This is he time when he or she learns to receive and to study God’s word. This is the time when teachers and preachers lay a foundation in the souls and hearts of new converts so that God’s house would be built upon this foundation. This is the time given to the bible class. There are fundamental topics that are covered in the bible class curriculum that facilitate formation of clear and correct understanding based on the bible. These are some of the topics: rightesness, prayer and intersession, deliverance and spiritual forces, God’s view on finances, on family, life and ministry of Jesus Christ, healing, the authority of a believer, victorious faith, and church history. We try to invite powerful teachers and preachers from Russia and from other countries. They teach and share their revelations. The school goes for 9 months and sessions take place three times a week.
