How it All Started by Rick Ives

19 November 2015 No Comment

Sprout2It all started on a 747 jumbo jet flying from Tel Aviv, Israel to the JFK airport in New Your City. It was about 3 am, I was reading, Heather was asleep next to me, and the Lord spoke to me in a clear voice that I could hear and understand. I was so shocked that I wrote the exact words of the lord down in the book I was reading, which I still have today. Whenever I wonder about my calling to Russia, I look at that book, and remember it’s real.

God simply said he was about to send Heather and I to a new place, where we would face many difficulties, and see great fruit for Him, and that we had to prepare, and prepare now. Little did I know at that moment that we would be living in Morozova, a village in the St. Petersburg area that had been a closed city for many years a(Soviet Army rocket fuel plant), in just 6 months!

From the original calling on the jet in November, 1991, to moving into our 450 sq., foot flat in Morozova in May of 1992, to present day almost 2016 – Russians Reaching Russians has been present in Russia now for 25 years, without interruption. Can I just say THANK YOU! It has been the calling and leading of the lord, and the prayers, visits, and financial gifts from YOU, that has enabled RRR to be a great blessing in Russia.

You will hear much more, especially about our next 25 years, as we set aside the next months to celebrate – 25 years in Russia, tens of thousands saved, dozens of churches started, thousands discipled, and the best is yet to come in Russia – the world’s greatest missions field.

Please do continue to pray, consider a visit, and would you please make a special 25 year gift to RRR so we can grow and go across all 11 time zones of Russia. We love you – thank you! Rick and Heather Ives.
