Reflections by Sheila Noel

When Rick and Heather Ives visited our church last May, Rick mentioned that they were headed to Russia in November. I asked for details and the rest, as they say, is history. My friend Brenda and I began our quest to go on a missions trip to Russia with the ministry of Russian Reaching Russians (RRR).
We weren’t sure what to expect. Neither of us had been on a mission trip nor had either of us been to Russia. We were excited and nervous yet confident that our Lord would use …

White Nights in Siberia! by Rick Ives

I recently returned from two weeks in Russia, spending time in both Saint Petersburg and Novosibirsk, which is the third largest city in Russia with a population that exceeds one million.
In spite of what we often hear about Siberia, I saw no prisons, the weather was 75-80 degrees and beautiful, and the sun shone for almost 20 hours per day (White Nights). Though the weather in Saint Petersburg and Novosibirsk was beautiful, even more beautiful was the work of the Lord we witnessed and conducted.
RRR is celebrating 25 years in …

BACK TO SIBERIA! By Rick Ives

God willing, I travel to St. Petersburg, Russia in May and also to a major area in Siberia known as Kemerovo. We are taking a team of around 10 people and we will work with Russian Pastors and churches, and also we will do Discipleship and Leadership training for several hundred church leaders. This will be our 3rd venture in Siberia – a huge and wild area far far away! We are into our 25th year of working in Russia – the world’s greatest missions field – and yet the biggest doors …

Recent trip to Siberia by Rick Ives and Denis Kozlov

Early Christmas in Siberia by Rick Ives
As I write this article, we are rapidly approaching Christmas 2014.  Just few weeks ago, I was near the Chinese border in southern Siberia ministering in the city of Novokuznetsk (New Blacksmith). This city, with a population exceeding 5000,000, is a heavily industrialized and polluted city built during Stalin’s mad race to bring Russia into the industrial world. It already looks like Christmas there–snow and ice everywhere–in early November! Though it was frigid, the Christians we met were warm and wildly in love with …

How Great is Our God by Lauren Gingrich

Going to Russia was my first missions’ trip out of the states and for my first trip out of the United States I could not have asked for a better trip!! Russia was an answer to prayers. Before I went on the trip I was extremely nervous and had no idea what to expect. I told myself that I was not going to go on this trip with an agenda that I was going to go and just see how God wanted to use me. My only goal was to experience all I could …

Coincidence? Yeah, right! By Denis Kozlov

As usual, I accompanied my American friends when they came to Russia. My job is to interpret and make sure they have everything they need (hotels, interpreters, transportation). Serving a
very diverse group of Christians can be tiring and challenging at times, but also rewarding. The Lord has been faithful to bless each trip and gives us evidence we are doing His will.

This winter’s trip was outstanding and abounding in the blessings of the Lord. It was a joy to have a team of prayer warriors with willing hearts to …

Traveling plans for this fall (by Denis Kozlov)

We are just weeks away from our regular short-term missions trip to Russia. American
Christians will be traveling to Saint Petersburg to minister to Russian Christians and church
leaders. Please pray for God’s blessings and His presence to be with the team. I, together with
team leaders and Russian pastors, have coordinated and organized a rather aggressive plan for
this trip.
First, we will conduct the annual leadership conference for pastors and their spouses as well as
church and ministry leaders. Each year, we focus on issues and topics that serve to encourage
and equip leaders to …

20 Year Anniversary Reunion Trip

In November, we will take a number of people from the US to Saint Petersburg to celebrate Russians Reaching Russians’ 20 years of ministry.  The itinerary will include a two-day conference in the historic town of Pushkin with our Russian pastors and leaders who have been involved with Russians Reaching Russians over the years.  Those traveling with us will participate in the conference, which will be a time of equipping, renewing friendships, worshiping and praying for the Kingdom in Russia, as well as tour scenic Pushkin, home to …

20th Anniversary of Russians Reaching Russians (by Grant Edwards)

Rick and Heather Ives began their ministry in Russia during the spring of 1992. When they first entered Russia there were few Christians – so they held crusades. Realizing there were no pastors – Rick and Heather started a Bible College and trained pastors. After reaching Russians then training Russians as pastors, they realized there were no churches – so they planted churches.
Russians Reaching Russians has always focused on helping Russians reach their own country. Through the years Russians Reaching Russians has planted over 60 churches, witnessed tens of thousands …

Today’s “Barnabas” (by Denis Kozlov)

Every spring and fall, I fly to the other side of the globe for a few weeks. This has become a very special time for me – both spiritually and mentally. When I go to the United States I have a two goals: 1) to keep the connection between Russian and American churches alive by sharing at and updating partner churches, and 2) to find new churches and individuals interested in connecting with this mission field. Both goals are challenging and rewarding at the same time. Both make me leave …
