Branching Out and Angel Christmas Tree

Branching Out by Denis Kozlov

Last May, I organized a seminar for Russian leaders working with prisons. After the seminar, one of the attendees invited me to his town near Moscow to minister and train leaders. That trip itself was refreshing. It felt like I was back in early 1990s when revival swept through many Russian cities. This church I worked with was amazing, too. They have over 3,000 members, five services each Sunday, thirty pastoral staff, 300 small groups and powerful, gifted  worship teams.
But, in spite of all of the …

Сhurch in transition (by Denis Kozlov)

Church in Transition:

I recently visited Pastor Igor Sokolov, one of RRR’s leaders, to see how he and his church, Harvest Church, were doing.  During our time together, he told me how he completely changed the way the church conducts itself. As many of you know, most Russian Churches do not have a facility of their own where they can host activities. They typically rent a place to meet for the main services, which can be two or three times per week. So, the hope of most pastors and churches is …

Good news from pastor Yura

This month’s spotlight on ministry is on Pastor Yura Troyanov. Pastor Yura has been a missionary, a pastor, and church planter for a number of years. He and his wife, Zhenia, moved to the city of Volkhov, which is situated three hours north of Saint Petersburg.
During their first two years in Volkhov, Pastor Yura and Zhenia laid the difficult groundwork for ministry, and their church took root and began to grow. As a church, they prayed and felt led to address the problem of drugs in their city. Drug addiction …

Genuine miracle

The article below is an update on the church in Kommunar pastured by Andre and Svetlana Ziablitsev.
The Lord is always doing so many wonderful things. We hear of the signs and wonders taking place all over the world: people being resurrected, sinners being saved, churches growing, yet sometimes we tend to think that miracles only happen somewhere else…far away. But when it comes to our lives, we tend to take these things for granted; that is until we remember the ways that the Lord has led us and worked in …

He is risen indeed

The following article is sent to us by Igor Sokolov, pastor of Harvest Church in Saint Petersburg, Russia, and national director of Russians Reaching Russians. Igor serves alongside of his wife, Angelica, and, together, they have three beautiful daughters.
In Russia, a well-accepted Easter custom is to eat a unique type of sweet bread (kulich) with hard-boiled eggs as we greet one another with the words “Christ is risen! As in America, the respondent states, “He is risen indeed!” All this is followed by exchanging kisses on one another’s cheek.
To …

Testimony of Lydia

This month’s feature article is written by Pastor Vladimir Osipov. Vladimir is an RRR board member and is raising up ministry leaders and church planters in the environs of Saint Petersburg. One of the methods Vladimir employs is drug rehabilitation. In today’s Russia, drug addiction and alcoholism are epidemics that touch the lives of virtually every Russian family, and the only programs available to addicts are run by Christian churches.
This testimony is from a lady named Lydia, who, with her husband, serves …

Heaven’s Gate and Hell’s Flames

This month’s article is a summary of an evangelistic production conducted in Saint Petersburg. The production is a reprise of Heaven’s Gate and Hell’s Flames made popular in the United States over the past few decades.  With a few cultural tweaks, the production was hosted by Igor Sokolov and his congregation, Harvest Church.  Igor has been the national director of RRR for the past five years and resides with his wife, Angelica, and three daughters in Saint Petersburg.
This past December, in the community center that we rent for church services, …
