Belarus & First Steps By Grant Edwards

When I first received an invitation to teach First Steps in Belarus, I thought, “Where is Belarus?”  After accepting the invitation to go to Belarus and telling people I was traveling to Belarus, I asked them, “Where is Belarus located.”  I quickly found that many Americans needed to review their geography as the answers were South Africa, Asia, next to Brazil and somewhere in Europe.
Answer: start at Russia and go east – Russia, Belarus, and then Poland.
I traveled to Belarus with my wife to teach First Steps the last week …

We Shall Overcome by Igor Sokolov

Someone once said that the only constant in the world is change, and, perhaps, this is true. We are confronted with changes all the time. If we think back to how things were just one year ago, we can see how much change has occurred in the world and in our lives.Naturally, we want the changes we experience to be positive, but, as we well know, that is not always the case. What shall we do? The answer is straightforward: We need to learn to live in the midst of …

White Nights in Siberia! by Rick Ives

I recently returned from two weeks in Russia, spending time in both Saint Petersburg and Novosibirsk, which is the third largest city in Russia with a population that exceeds one million.
In spite of what we often hear about Siberia, I saw no prisons, the weather was 75-80 degrees and beautiful, and the sun shone for almost 20 hours per day (White Nights). Though the weather in Saint Petersburg and Novosibirsk was beautiful, even more beautiful was the work of the Lord we witnessed and conducted.
RRR is celebrating 25 years in …

My first encounter with Russia by Dave Dilger

My first trip to Russia with RRR was in 1997, only a handful of years after
“the fall of the Iron Curtain”. At that time, stepping off the plane was in many ways like stepping back into the 1940’s. Military personnel were everywhere. In public, it seemed that 40 percent of the people were wearing some kind of military or paramilitary uniform. The first taste of the culture was going through customs to enter the country officially. It was here that one had to lose the typical American tourist “I’m so …

If Only . . . . by Ray Willis

On September 10, 2001, a team of short-term missionaries was preparing to travel to Saint Petersburg, Russia. Within 24 hours, the world changed, and that team, like most, felt quite uncertain about what the future would hold. By week’s end, that team was forced to decide whether or not they would follow through with their plans to travel to Russia. I was one of those people.
To be honest, I was overwhelmingly on the side of cancelling, and, as a leader, I thought most would be in agreement. I presented my case …

The Love of Jesus Made Me Weep by Jim Britton

God called me to minister overseas at some point in my life, but I was shocked and a bit intimidated when Pastor Grant Edwards casually declared to me in early 1994, “JB, if you want to go to Russia with me, I need to know by Monday.” That was on a Thursday. Yikes!
Though I jumped at the opportunity, by the time we left for Saint Petersburg, I was totally freaked out. Could this be because Pastor Grant warned me of bad Russian water, lack of available food, killer mosquitos, rogue …

It Began With a Phone Call

We continue to celebrate 25 years in Russia as we also celebrate Christmas! In this issue you will meet Doug Carson, a Christian Businessman and entrepreneur who has been my friend since late 1991 and who has supported and been part of RRR from the beginning. Doug’s involvement has even led he and his wife, Jayn, into a significant ministry in Russia! We are asking that you prayerfully consider giving a special gift to RRR as part of your yearend giving so that more Russians will be saved, equipped, and more churches and leaders will arise. …

New Doors! By Denis Kozlov

In the coming months, RRR will run a series of newsletters highlighting its wonderful history as we look forward to a bright future. For years, we have faithfully carried out the vision the Lord has placed before us. Specifically, over the last 20 years RRR has been laboring in St. Petersburg and its environs, helping the first generation of post-Soviet Russian pastors and churches. Several years ago, the Lord opened new doors and provided strategic connections with a number of influential churches and ministries all over Russia.
One particular open door is in Siberia. RRR has been invited …

How it All Started by Rick Ives

It all started on a 747 jumbo jet flying from Tel Aviv, Israel to the JFK airport in New Your City. It was about 3 am, I was reading, Heather was asleep next to me, and the Lord spoke to me in a clear voice that I could hear and understand. I was so shocked that I wrote the exact words of the lord down in the book I was reading, which I still have today. Whenever I wonder about my calling to Russia, I look at that book, and …

Hungry to Experience His Power – Denis Kozlov

I am hungry to see American and Russian believers learn how to operate under the same anointing as Jesus! Acts 10:28 says “God anointed Jesus of  Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.”
His Please, understand that Jesus performed all those miracles and did all those great things like healing people and casting out demons as a man! As a real man, just like you and me. A man who was anointed by God. Part of the good news of the Gospel is …
